We are proud to deliever your belongings in the same conditions as when they were originally placed into our care.At NO 1 movers,our workers and our entire staff do everything in their power to make sure that no damages will occur.Unfortunately,with all the preparation and safeguarding available,accidents still can happen.That is why we have insurance options available for the safety of your belongings.
BASIC STANDARD INSURANCE
This coverage is provided by No 1 Movers at no extra cost to you.This is included in each and every move we do for your convenience.It covers from the moment we arrive at your home,until the moment the truck pulls away from your new place.You are entitled to $0.60 per pound per article.That means,a 100 lb dresser would be covered for up to $60.00.Obviously,this would not replace a new dresser but it would easily cover any scratch or dent repair required.
EXTRA PROTECTION
Many families want the piece of mind and take the advantage of the additional protection offer by paying a small amount.This is called Replacement Value Protection.We design this for maximum coverage at an affordable price.It simply means that if the damaged household item cannot be repaired to its original condition,it will be given lump-sum value declared on your shipment.The declared value is calculated and priced on the greater of replacement cost of the shipment stipulated by the customer or the minimum value of $10.00 per pound of the shipment.
For example if a household item with a replacement value of $350.00is irreparably damaged or lost,you will be compensated at its replacement value of $350.00.Charges for replacement value coverage is calculated at a rate of $1.25/$100 of the declared value.
There is $350.00 deductible on all claims.
CERTIFICATE OF INSURANCE
No 1 Moving maintains in excess of one million dollar worth of general liability insurance.We also have Disability and Worker's compensation insurance coverage for our workers.Every No 1 Moving truck has a minimum of $25000.00 cargo insurance which protects against loss of or damage to your goods while they are being transported.Also keep in mind that No 1 Moving is not an insurance agent,we do our best to compliment,not replace your existing coverage.Most homes already have insurance which covers your belongings.
NO LIABILITY FOR SOME ITEMS
Due to the design and/or construction of certain items,company policies,as well as government regulations,there are several items that are not covered under any of our protection plans.So that why No1 Movers assumes no liability for following items
- Pressboard Furniture: Disassemble pressboard furniture if possible, package fasteners separately
- Halogen Pole Lamps: Disassemble and box halogen pole lamps to protect them, always remove bulbs.
- Live Plants or Perishables: Avoid packing food or plants if at all possible, use open-top boxes or wardrobes for plants.
- Electronics & Musical Instruments (Internal Mechanisms): Includes the internal workings of all electronic items such as televisions, stereos, computers, computer accessories and all musical instruments. Have your electronics and musical instruments professionally prepared for moving beforehand.
- Unpackaged Glass: Includes glass framed artwork, fish-tanks, tabletops, and mirror glass. Glass must be pre-packaged by a No 1 Movers to be fully covered.
The contents of the boxes are not covered unless they have been packed by No1 Movers.In the event that a customer packed box is lost or destroyed,compensation will be computer based on an average weight of 50 pounds per box,regardless of actual box contents.
In order for your shipment to be fully covered either you or an agent approved by you must be present at both pick up and deliveries.It is usually not necessary to remain for the entire process.If a shipment will be delievering into moving storage facility,it is very important that you or your approved agent is present there.Articles of Extra ordinary value must be declared to us before shipping
SPECIAL REQUIREMENTS
It is very important that you highlight to your sales representative if you have any special requirements.These would include Pianos,Fine arts or statues.If there is something that you are unsure about,please contact our proffesional staff and we will advice you.
CLAIMS PROCEDURE
To file a claim ,full amount of moving service is required .You must provide written notice of your claim within 15 days of completing your move.Claims submitted by telephone will not be processed.Someone from our office will investigate your claim.He will examine everything,confirm any price estimates you have submitted and contact repair companies as necessary.We will contact you within 15 days with a decision on your claim.
All claims are subject to $150.00 processing fee or damages to the home will have a $350.00 deductible,any claims over $300.00 needs to be notarized.
